Karlsson is a defenseman, and in the past few years he has been far and away the best at his position. In the 2011-12 season, he won the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenseman, and he was a finalist for the award again in 2014-15. Gaudreau is one of the league’s most dynamic and skilled players, and is considered one of its best young stars. He has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year, and has won several awards, including the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most gentlemanly player.
