NHL players

These three players are some of the most recognizable names in hockey and they have all won the Stanley Cup multiple times.

The first game of the NHL was played on December 19, 1917, between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, two of the oldest hockey clubs still in existence. The Canadiens are currently owned by Geoff Molson and have Joel Bouchard as their head coach; while the Senators are owned by Eugene Melnyk and D. J. Smith is their head coach.

The NHL playoffs are now in full swing and there are some great match-ups taking place across the league. Tonight’s slate of games includes:
Boston Bruins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Bruins are looking to rebound from a disappointing loss in Game 1, while the Blue Jackets hope to build on their strong performance and steal another game on the road. This should be a great contest between two evenly matched teams.
San Jose Sharks vs. Vegas Golden Knights
After splitting the first two games of the series, both teams will be hungry for a victory in Game 3. The Sharks will have home-ice advantage in this one, but the Golden Knights have proven they can win on the road, so don’t count them out just yet.
Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues
The Jets took care of business at home in Game 1 and will look to do the same in Game 2 tonight. The Blues will need to find a way to slow down Winnipeg’s high-powered offense if they want any chance of winning this series.

NHL free agency
NHL free agency is upon us, and there are a lot of big names available this year. Who will end up where? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, here’s a look at some of the top free agents and where they might land.
Steven Stamkos – One of the most sought-after free agents in recent memory, Stamkos will have his pick of the litter when it comes to teams. The Tampa Bay Lightning are desperate to keep him, but he could also end up with the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, or Buffalo Sabres.
Taylor Hall – Hall is another big name on the free agent market. The former first overall pick has had a solid NHL career thus far, and he’s still just 26 years old. He’s reportedly been in talks with the New Jersey Devils, but the Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers are also said to be interested.
Andrew Ladd – A Stanley Cup winner with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, Ladd is one of the more experienced free agents available this year. The 31-year-old winger could end up back with the Blackhawks, but he’s also been linked to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators.

The NHL All-Star Game is an event that takes place every year to showcase the best players in the National Hockey League. The game features a skills competition as well as a game between teams from the Eastern and Western Conference.
NHL Winter Classic
The NHL Winter Classic is an annual outdoor hockey game that is played on New Year’s Day. The game features two teams from the National Hockey League, and is broadcasted on television in the United States and Canada.
